IMB Bank is pleased to announce that effective 1 December 2021, Mr Christopher Whitehead will join the Board of IMB Bank and its subsidiaries, following a successful Non-Executive Director recruitment search facilitated by an external firm. Mr Whitehead is appointed by the Board to fill the casual vacancy arising following the retirement of Gai McGrath, who retired in May 2021.
Mr Whitehead has over 30 years’ experience in the financial services and technology industry. He is currently the Managing Director and CEO of FINSIA, Australia’s leading professional body in financial services. He was formerly CEO of Australia’s largest mutual ADI, Credit Union Australia from 2009 to 2015, Regional Director at the Bank of Scotland from 2007 to 2008 and Chief Executive Retail Banking at BankWest from 2001 to 2007. Prior to this Mr Whitehead was CIO at BankWest and Advance Bank and worked in the IT sector for 15 years. Mr Whitehead has previously served as non-executive director for Cuscal Limited and WISR Ltd, Australia’s first ASX-listed neo-lender in the consumer finance market.

His senior executive roles in the mutual industry and in retail banking distribution, together with his non-executive director experience means he is well placed to provide strong oversight across a broad range of strategic, risk management and operational matters.”
Mr Whitehead will stand for re-appointment by members at the 2022 IMB Annual General Meeting of members.
