Lets make Christmas more enjoyable for 400 local families
IMB Bank Community Foundation has joined forces with local not-for-profit organisation Need A Feed to gather food items to help local families doing it tough during the festive season.
An IMB Community Foundation recipient in 2015, Need A Feed collects food items to distribute to Wollongong charities who look after people needing assistance.
Program Co-Ordinator Shaz Harrison-Shaw has urged the Wollongong community to lend a hand and drop off food items to a collection point at their local IMB branch.
And like most people, she has her Christmas shopping list of top 10 items she would like to see amassed by the end of the month.

- Cereal
- Rice/pasta
- Tins of tuna
- Canned vegetables
- Canned fruit
- Soup
- Christmas cake/pudding
- Christmas treats for children
- Long life custard
“It would be great if we could get everyone in Wollongong to add one item from this list each time they go to the supermarket during October and drop it off at their local IMB branch,” Shaz said.
“It would make a huge difference to helping others at Christmas time.”
IMB Bank CEO Robert Ryan said he was delighted the Wollongong branches could be involved in such a worthwhile cause.
“This campaign is an extension of our Community Foundation involvement with Need A Feed and we are very pleased to be able to help them with such an important initiative,” he said.
IMB Community Foundation Chairman, Kieran Biddle, added his support to the campaign, personally appealing to all Wollongong residents to help out where they can.
“Need A Feed is a wonderful organisation that provides a crucial service to the local community.
“We would love this campaign to provide all the food necessary to look after 400 local families this Christmas and I would urge everyone to think about helping others who are not quite so fortunate.
“We have a commitment to help the local communities in which IMB operates and through Need A Feed, we want to help as many people as we can this festive season,” Mr Biddle said.
