The IMB Bank Community Foundation delivers funding for projects that address key challenges facing Australians today
Ten grassroots projects from across the ACT, Canberra and the South Coast of NSW have secured vital funding through the IMB Bank Community Foundation; delivering a much needed funding boost to address specific challenges faced by local communities.
The ACT and NSW South Coast funding recipients, receiving a combined total of close to $121,000 in funding, were announced at a ceremony hosted by the IMB Bank Community Foundation on Monday, 7 November at the National Gallery of Australia in Canberra.
The ACT and South Coast NSW projects were among 52 grassroots projects across NSW, ACT and Melbourne receiving funding in 2022. This year’s funding totals more than $11.5million donated by the IMB Bank Community Foundation to more than 850 community building projects since 1999.
IMB Bank was honoured to welcome ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr to the ACT funding announcement ceremony, in addition to other key Canberra VIPs, funding recipients, IMB Bank executives, and members of IMB Bank Community Foundation team.
IMB Bank CEO Robert Ryan says that IMB Bank Community Foundation funding for ACT and NSW South Coast community groups and projects will ensure that vital services continue to support those who need it most.
“Following global unrest and domestic challenges, it is the hard work of community-minded Australians that provides the on-the-ground support. It is a privilege to support people and organisations that donate their time, energy and care to help others in need.
“It is an honour to have Chief Minister Andrew Barr join us in recognising and celebrating the tremendous service delivered by community groups to locals following several challenging years.
“We are supporting ten diverse projects across the ACT and South Coast of NSW that aim to build brighter futures for Australian communities, and will make a positive difference to the lives of many locals.”
ACT and South Coast NSW groups and projects receiving funding support in 2022 address local priorities including support programs for people with disability and their families, environmental initiatives to reduce waste, support for people experiencing domestic violence, providing driver education programs for teens, and establishing spaces that foster social and community connections.
IMB Bank is one of the longest-standing financial organisations in NSW and was awarded two Canstar accolades in 2022: Most Satisfied Customers – Bank, and Most Satisfied Customers – Customer Owned Bank and was recently appointed to the lending panel for the Australian Government’s Home Guarantee Scheme.
